| I was blessed to have been raised by
Christian parents who took our family to a Bible believing/preaching
church, Maple Hill Baptist. I clearly remember going forward at a young
age in a church service and praying to receive Christ with a dear godly
woman. After our family moved to Shawnee, I became familiar with FBC of
Shawnee through school friends and eventually our family transferred
membership. I have great memories of youth group times in The Cave
(basement of current parsonage), singing in the Freedom Singers and a
great active college-career group. After
graduating from high school, I worked for a short time as a secretary at
FBC with another godly woman, Dorothy Pressler, before going to work at
Hallmark Cards. After 29 years at Hallmark, I was able to retire and
become an almost full-time stay-at-home wife and homeschool Mom. In
December, 2005, I began working part-time at FBC in the bookkeeping
position.
My husband Mark and I have been married since 1988. We
have two daughters, Mallory and Olivia, and Mark’s older children, David
and Ben and grandchildren, Ethan and Maggie. I am also blessed to be able
to have my dad, Loren Leckrone, still worshipping with us at FBC.
The two verses that have helped me the most are Isaiah
40:30 and Philippians 4:13. |
