What to Expect

Most churches say pretty much the same thing about their Sunday mornings: “we have good coffee, come as you are,” etc. We figure your coffee is pretty good at home, and you can dress as you like there, and there should be something different to get you out of bed on a Sunday morning.

We know that churches come in all shapes and sizes.  FBC may be a little different for you as well, so we would love to share with you what is important to us.

Focused Bible teaching. The teaching of the Bible is the centerpiece of our worship service. We believe that everyone should leave a Sunday morning having heard a clear presentation of the truths of Scripture. Our method for doing this is to take a small section of the Bible each Sunday and letting it speak for itself.

Biblical challenge. Bible teaching is not just about communicating Bible detail. The truths in the Bible are there to challenge us. We are committed to that kind of teaching in sermons you hear and classes you may attend.

God honoring Worship. There is a long standing tradition of music, singing, and worship in the Christian Faith. The Apostle Paul wrote that we “speak to one another in Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.” Music communicates, and in our worship services the music we sing carries a clear message of praise to God the Creator of all.

Family-feel atmosphere. At First Baptist you will find people who have been here for decades along with newcomers. You can expect an atmosphere of friendship. There will often be church dinners and many ways to connect—and you can expect a lot of greetings and handshakes!

Age-specific ministries. We have a nursery, a children's’ ministry, youth program, and various adult programs and classes. Church should be for everyone, and at First Baptist you will find someone of all ages to connect with.

Join us this week and see if you feel the difference.

By the way...our coffee is pretty good, too.
