I was raised in a Christian home in
Northern Indiana. I gave my life to Christ at 9 years old and at 15, I
dedicated my life to full time music ministry. I inherited many of my
mother’s natural musical abilities and my father provided many
opportunities for me to play the piano and organ in the churches that he
pastored. I graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where
I earned a Bachelor in Music; Church Music, 1985. After college I served
as a Music and Youth Minister for 10 years before attending seminary. In
1997, I graduated from Midwestern Theological Seminary, in Kansas City,
Missouri with a Master of Church Music degree.
I met Tina in college and we married after graduation. Tina is from
Tulsa, OK, where her parents and brother still live. We have two
wonderful children. Sara Bethany is attending Southwest Baptist
University and majoring in Intercultural Studies, which will prepare her
for the international mission field. Jonathan Christian is in high
school at Shawnee Mission North and he wants to pursue a career as a
aeronautical mechanic. Tina is in her last year at Colorado Technical
University where she is studying to be a Radiological Technician.
I enjoy teaching piano lessons, reading, gardening, camping, and writing
hymn arrangements for handbells. I have several pieces published by
Lorenz Music and Broadman Press. Tina loves to sing, play the flute and
handbells. Sara sings, plays the piano, guitar and loves languages.
Jonathan works at Firestone after school. In his spare time he loves to
hotrod his ’73 Ford Ranchero and play his guitars.
My current favorite Bible scripture is II Corinthians 12:9-10. |
