I was raised in a Christian home in
Northern Indiana. I gave my life to Christ at 9 years old and at 15, I
dedicated my life to full time music ministry. I inherited many of my
mother’s natural musical abilities and my father provided many
opportunities for me to play the piano and organ in the churches that he
pastored. I graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where
I earned a Bachelor in Music; Church Music, 1985. After college I served
as a Music and Youth Minister for 10 years before attending seminary. In
1997, I graduated from Midwestern Theological Seminary, in Kansas City,
Missouri with a Master of Church Music degree.
I met Tina in college and we married after graduation.
Tina is from Tulsa, OK, where her parents and brother still live. We
have two wonderful children, Sara and Jonathan. Sara Weldy Parrott is
attending Southwest Baptist University, in Bolivar, Missouri and
majoring in Intercultural Studies, which will prepare her for the
international mission field. She is married to Matthew Parrott who
graduated from SBU and is a computer programmer for an insurance company
in Springfield, Missouri. Jonathan is attending Tulsa Technology Center
in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he is studying Airframe and Power plant,
Aviation Mechanics. Tina works at Olathe Medical Center in the X-ray and
CT lab as a Radiographer.
I enjoy teaching piano lessons, reading, gardening, vacation cruising,
writing Hand bell arrangements and teaching at Midwestern Theological
Seminary as an adjunct music professor. Tina loves to sing, play the
Hand bells and Flute. Sara sings, plays the piano, guitar and loves
languages. Jonathan works at the Tulsa Airport and in his spare time he
loves to hotrod his ’73 Ford Ranchero and play his guitars. My current favorite Bible scripture is II Corinthians 12:9-10. |
